Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Driver to operate heavy machinery, primarily specialising in loading shovels and excavators, within our waste management site. The successful candidate will be responsible for manoeuvring machinery safely and efficiently to support various tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical proficiency and safety awareness are paramount.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery in accordance with site safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Load, unload, and move materials across the site using appropriate machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working order and report any faults or issues promptly.
- Assist with site preparation, including loading, lifting, and positioning materials as required.
- Maintain accurate records of machine usage and maintenance activities.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly operating excavators or similar heavy machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Valid certification or licence for operating excavators or Loading shovel.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail regarding equipment handling and safety compliance. This role is ideal for candidates who are committed to safety, possess technical skills in machinery operation, and are eager to contribute effectively within a skip site setting.
