We are a long established family new car dealership selling new and used cars, providing excellent customer service to our customers for the last 50 years.
We now require a full time bookkeeper/accounts person to manage and ensure all processes of the accounts are adhered to.
A knowledge and experience of a new car dealership would be an advantage but not essential.
This position is a full time 5 day week however after initial training this could be reduced to a 4 day week pro rata if mutually suitable.

Role:
The position in main is to run the day to day operations of the Financial/Accounts department for the site. The position involves the following duties:
- Prepare and Submit VAT Returns.
- Prepare Monthly Management Accounts which includes preparing the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and all work that this entails.
- Prepare the Year End Accounts and liaise with Accountancy Practice.
- Submit the composites to the manufacturer’s standards and by required deadlines.
- Ensure all Tax, VAT and other payment liabilities are paid when required.
- Manage Sales and Purchase Ledger (Credit Controller and Purchase Ledger Duties)
- Accruals and Prepayments
- Bank and Petty Cash Reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations for monthly accounts.
- Complete Cost Comparison monthly and explore saving opportunities.
- Posting Payroll Journal
- Processing all Purchase Invoices, Parts Invoices and all manufacturer invoices.
- Calculating Bonuses due from Manufacturers and ensuring payment is received.
The Successful Applicant will require the following skills:
- Organisational Skills with strong attention to details.
- Excellent attitude and commitment to work.
- Accountancy Software and Microsoft Skills.
- Ability to be self-motivated and manage own workload.
- AAT Level 3 or above OR Qualified by Experience (Does not necessarily have to be in the Motor Trade)
Excellent salary of £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience and training needs
