We are seeking to hire two Polymer Apprentices to train and develop in a sought after industry, learning via a blend of on the job and college based training in our modern, automated manufacturing facility working alongside our team of talented Injection Moulding Technicians.

Learning Objectives & Responsibilities:
Operation of Engel and Demag Injection Mouldings and Actuator assembly production lines working on a rotational basis
Perform quality control tasks according to cycle of control to ensure products conform to customer specifications taking full responsibility for accurate and timely checks
Perform competent and comprehensive preventative and technical maintenance of production lines including cleaning and lubrication of equipment and systems
Breakdown repairs and reactive maintenance of automated assembly lines as well as packaging and palletisation equipment
Installation of new equipment/machinery and modification of existing equipment
Operation and maintenance of material conveyance system (Motan)
Operation of chiller systems
Undertaking troubleshooting and problem solving to tightly controlled and monitored standards with the ability to accurately document changes whilst adhering to quality standards
Continuous improvement (Kaizen System) – Design, Develop and implementation of ideas
Being an ambassador for safe working practices and the business’s clean as you go policy
Any other reasonable request made by a Director/Manager of the organisation
Skills and Experience
HSE Awareness
Product awareness and identification
Keen interest in automated & Semi-automated production lines.
Mechanical/ Electrical understanding advantageous.
Committed team player willing to support and help colleagues
Ability to work and learn in a busy production environment.
Analytical & Computer Skills.
Ability or willingness to read and understand diagrams, technical drawings & manuals
Ability to fault find to component level
Ability to understand production planning to ensure production flow
Understanding of “5 why’s”
Be able to handle boxes of components and pallets up to 10kg in weight and in line with HSE guide lines on manual handling
Hours and Benefits: -
- £10.00 per hour for the first 12 months
- Full time, Fixed Term Contract for the duration of the apprenticeship - approx. 24 months
- 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday (with a one hour lunch) and 8.30am to 4pm on Fridays (with half hour lunch)

PLEASE NOTE: The apprenticeship will be supported by Wolverhampton College and will require attendance at the college up to 30 days split across the duration of the apprenticeship. Travel and accommodation will be paid for by the company.
