We are looking to appoint four motivated and organised individuals to join us on a Modern Apprenticeship programme. Postholders will work 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year and for a period of up to 12 months.
As part of the Modern Apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving your SCQF Level 5 in Business Administration, while gaining valuable experience in a busy office environment. You will also develop confidence in working with the public in a front‑facing role and build essential administrative and customer service skills.
You should have some experience using Microsoft Office applications and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be able to work to tight deadlines, show enthusiasm to succeed and have a willingness to learn while being coached and mentored by experienced colleagues.
Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality at all times.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last five years will, if offered a position, be required to provide a completed police record check from the relevant authority in the country or countries in which they were resident, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland check.
