Are you ready to take on a dynamic role where you can make a real impact across both Treasury and Finance, helping to manage cashflow, support investment activity, and ensure financial stability?
If you’re someone who thrives in a dynamic role spanning both Finance and Treasury, with strong ICT skills and confidence in using systems to analyse financial data, and you have an interest in cashflow forecasting and investment activity, this could be the role for you. You will bring accuracy, attention to detail and strong organisational skills, alongside the ability to take initiative and effectively prioritise competing demands—if this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
What’s the role all about?
This role spans Treasury and Finance, supporting the effective management of the Authority’s cashflow and financial position.
You will work within established governance frameworks to help ensure funds are in the right place, at the right time, to meet the Council’s obligations, while also supporting investment activity and income generation.
What will your day look like?
Your day will involve maintaining accurate daily cashflow forecasts to ensure liquidity needs are consistently met, alongside supporting investment decisions with careful consideration of security, liquidity and yield principles. You will monitor and support budgets, ensuring reporting remains consistent and accurate, while also assisting with financial closedown processes and account reconciliations. A key part of the role includes updating and interrogating financial and treasury systems to support informed decision-making. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure payments, deadlines and reporting requirements are achieved, all while effectively managing competing priorities to deliver work on time without compromising accuracy.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who understands the importance of working within a controlled, governance-led financial environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and adopt a methodical approach to their work, alongside a clear understanding of risk awareness, including liquidity and counterparty considerations. You will be confident in communicating with colleagues, using clear and professional communication to manage deadlines and priorities effectively. The role also requires the ability to influence others and build strong working relationships to ensure tasks are completed on time. You will remain calm and focused under pressure, balancing the need for pace with accuracy, and take personal responsibility for delivering high-quality work in line with professional standards
Why join us?
This is a varied and hands-on role where you will play an important part in supporting key financial operations. You will be working in an environment that values accuracy, accountability, and strong governance, where your contribution helps ensure the effective management of public funds and delivery of essential services.
