Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Alternative Provision Lead to champion inclusive education and support diverse learner needs at our new Chesham Venue during school hours. In this vital role, you will oversee the development and delivery of tailored alternative education programs, ensuring every student receives personalized support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your leadership will inspire a team of educators and specialists to create engaging, safe, and nurturing environments that foster positive behavior, growth, and achievement for children with varied learning requirements. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of alternative provision programs tailored to individual student needs.
- Coordinate with councils, teachers, speech therapists, behavior specialists, and other professionals to develop comprehensive support plans.
- Manage daily operations of the provision setting, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment conducive to learning and development.
- Monitor student progress closely, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize engagement and achievement.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for staff members to enhance their skills in special education, behavior management, and early childhood education.
- Foster effective communication with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure collaborative support for students’ well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation in line with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or toddler care.
- A strong passion in working with vulnerable and SEND children
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and external partners.
- Qualifications in early childhood education or related fields; additional certifications in tutoring or proofing are advantageous.
- Familiarity with child development milestones across early years stages and experience mentoring staff or students.
