Description
The Audit Assistant Manager will play a key role within our Chester office, responsible for delivering high-quality audit services to a varied portfolio of clients while supporting and developing junior members of the audit team.
Working closely with Managers and Partners, the successful individual will take responsibility for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with statutory requirements, auditing standards, and professional regulations.
This role requires a technically strong and organised audit professional who can manage client relationships, lead audit engagements, review work, and support the development of team members while delivering an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver an excellent level of service to a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.
Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact for client queries and requests.
Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
Lead and oversee audit engagements, ensuring compliance with relevant auditing standards, regulations, and internal procedures.
Review audit files and work completed by junior team members, providing constructive feedback and ensuring required quality standards are met.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members on audit-related matters.
Mentor, coach, and support junior members of the audit team to develop their technical knowledge and confidence.
Assist with planning and allocation of audit work across the team to ensure effective delivery.
Identify risks, issues, and opportunities during assignments and communicate these effectively to Managers and Partners.
Assist with the preparation and review of statutory accounts and other compliance work where required.
Support Managers and Partners with client meetings, proposals, and business development activities.
Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and an understanding of client needs.
Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant legal, regulatory, and professional requirements.
Support the achievement of team financial targets through effective workflow management and accurate recording of chargeable time.

Key Requirements
We are looking for an ambitious and technically strong audit professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will ideally:
Be ACA/ACCA qualified or working towards qualification.
Have strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
Have experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
Have experience reviewing audit files and supporting junior team members.
Have experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality client service.
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of audit standards, accounting principles, and professional regulations.
Have experience reviewing statutory accounts and an understanding of wider accounts and compliance services.
Have the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
Be confident dealing directly with clients and building trusted relationships.
Have a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
