Quality Manager | Automotive & Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Keighley Salary: £70,000 circa Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:15 to 17:00, Friday 08:15 to 15:30 (early finish every Friday)
About the role:
Fortem People are recruiting on behalf of a well established, manufacturing business based in Keighley, operating across both the automotive and aerospace sectors and holding accreditation to IATF 16949 and AS9100D. This is a newly available Quality Manager role reporting directly into the General Manager, offering real influence over how quality is delivered across the site, not just monitored.
What you'll be doing
- Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System across ISO9001, IATF 16949 and AS9100D, leading customer, internal and third party audits
- Drive continuous improvement projects that reduce scrap, reduce cost of poor quality and cut customer complaints
- Lead PPAP and FAIR submissions and act as the main point of contact for customer escalations
- Build, train and develop a high performing quality team, embedding a right first time culture across the site
- Report key quality metrics to the leadership team and drive KPI improvement in partnership with the wider management team
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or in a similar senior quality role within automotive and/or aerospace manufacturing
- In depth knowledge of ISO9001, IATF 16949 and AS9100D
- Strong working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA and SPC
- Confident experience leading customer, internal and third party audits
- A natural people leader with excellent communication skills and genuinely high standards
It would also be great, though not essential, to bring knowledge of Epicor, familiarity with ISO45001, ISO14001 or ISO18001, or experience of wider legal compliance and regulatory requirements. Strong candidates without every one of these are still very welcome to apply.
