Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team. You will support the Chef in preparing and serving nutritious meals while helping to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment for our residents.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments.
- Help with basic food preparation under the direction of the Cook or Chef.
- Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas and food preparation surfaces.
- Ensure food is stored correctly and stock is rotated where required.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Follow food hygiene, infection prevention and health and safety procedures at all times.
- Dispose of waste safely and keep the kitchen clean and organised.
- Work as part of the catering team to provide a high-quality service to residents.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties within the role.
Requirements
- Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling is desirable.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, hardworking and well organised.
- Able to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- A caring, respectful and positive approach towards residents, relatives and colleagues.

Pay: £12.71-£12.85 per hour
