Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in our small local 16 bed carehome, including care homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalised care and support. Prior experience in nursing home environments, dementia care, or hospice care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing assistance with daily activities and medical needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and updates to care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer activities. Following moving and handling and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for case management and patient care coordination
Requirements
- Valid first aid certification is essential; additional qualifications in nursing or medical terminology are advantageous
- Experience working in nursing homes, care homes, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, and behaviour management techniques
- Ability to administer medication accurately and follow detailed care plans
- Strong understanding of patient care principles within assisted living or senior care settings
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanour
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties is preferred but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends may be beneficial but not required
