We're looking to recruit a dedicated and committed individual to join our Duddingston Breakfast and After School Club in the role of Manager. This role is ideally suited to an experienced Manager or Deputy seeking the next step in their career. The successful candidate will be skilled in motivating and leading a team, while taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of the club.
We currently care for up to 20 children in our Breakfast Club and around 40–50 children in our After School Club, both based within the Primary School. Supported by a dedicated team of four Playworkers and an experienced Deputy Manager, we work together to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
The role of the manager:
- Ensure a fun, stimulating, and welcoming environment for children, both indoors and outdoors.
- Support staff in meeting children's individual needs and maintaining their safety and wellbeing.
- Lead by example, promoting good practice and implementing current guidance.
- Support the team with their daily responsibilities and professional development.
- Build positive relationships with parents through regular communication and support.
- Oversee key administrative tasks, including enrolment, registration, care plans, medication records, and risk assessments.
- Promote continuous improvement through self-evaluation and effective quality assurance processes.
Potential candidates should have extensive knowledge and experience in childcare, hold a childcare qualification, preferably SVQ3/SCQF level 7 qualification, and be able to demonstrate their management & leadership experiences in this type of environment.
Duddingston Operational Hours:
- Breakfast Club: Monday to Friday 7.30am till 9am.
- After School Club: Monday to Thursday 2.30pm to 5.45pm, Friday 11.45am to 5.45pm.
- Hours: Approx. 35 hrs per week
- 7½ hrs Breakfast Club
- 20 hrs After School Club
- Approximately 7½ flexible hours per week (administration time).

Rate of pay will be dependent on the level of the successful candidate's qualification, knowledge, and experience.
The successful applicant will be subject to a PVG check and must be willing to register as Manager with SSSC; a requirement of this registration is to have or to commence working towards a BA in Childhood Practice or equivalent within 5 years.
