Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and caring Dog Walker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality walks and care for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Take dogs on scheduled walks in designated neighbourhoods or parks, ensuring their safety at all times
- Monitor dogs' behaviour during walks, recognising signs of distress or discomfort
- Provide basic animal care during walks, including hydration and comfort checks
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including cleaning up after dogs and disposing of waste appropriately
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ behaviour or any concerns during walks
- Follow specific instructions from pet owners regarding individual dog needs or medical considerations
- Assist with additional pet care tasks as required, such as feeding or administering medication (training provided)
Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience or animal care experience is highly desirable
- Genuine love for animals with a caring and patient demeanour
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as handling dog harnesses or bags of dog food
- Physical fitness to walk multiple dogs over varying distances and terrains throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to travel between different walking locations (own vehicle preferred)
- Responsible attitude with a focus on safety and animal welfare
- Flexibility to work during mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
