Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our Indian restaurant. Work hours : Friday and Saturday : 6 pm to 10 pm
Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and promptly.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with general duties to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen remains well-equipped throughout service periods.
- Follow all hygiene regulations and safety protocols diligently to uphold high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, and kitchen hygiene standards is desirable.
- Experience in serving or hospitality roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service expectations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleaning and supporting team members.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
- A positive approach with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the kitchen setting.
