Summary of role:
The Civils Manager will manage delivery of projects by working closely with the Construction and Operations Teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects from acceptance to completion.
The Civils Manager will have responsibility for maintaining & developing the standards of health & safety, quality, and service throughout all work-related activities as well as being responsible for ensuring relevant legislative and industry standards are achieved throughout all work-related activities.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Ensuring full compliance with legislative, industry and business requirements throughout all work-related activities
2. Preparation, submission and administering of Streetworks notices in compliance with
current legislation.
3. Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure Network Connections are planned in and booked in line with Customer Programme
4. Ensuring all works are carried out to required specifications and standards
5. Management of operative and sub-contractor resources
6. Reviewing and supporting with Programme of Works.
7. Review & Approve Traffic Management Plans & Quotes in line with project budget.
8. Have budgetary responsibility for the offsite works relating to the project.
9. Undertake site and process audits to ensure compliance with company SHEQ and external bodies’ standards and procedures
10. Sourcing labour, materials & equipment on a project by project basis within defined
budgetary parameters
11. Reviewing and ensuring work packs are compliant and reflective of the works required.
12. Take ownership to resolve Health, Safety and Environment, engineering, customer
satisfaction & product quality problems
13. Provide support for the Sales & Tendering Teams.
14. Will be a member of the Management Review Team to ensure compliance with
accreditations and continued company development
15. Maintaining company SHEQ standards, interacting with company systems to ensure
continued compliance with legislation and industry standards
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
1. SWQR Supervisor
2. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
3. High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly in
written and oral forms.
4. Excellent appreciation of electricity network design, construction, commissioning, and
operations.
5. General appreciation of Gas/Water & Electric utilities.
6. Full valid UK Driving Licence – Essential
7. Essential SHEA Gas/Water or Power/relevant CSCS Card
8. Experience of sub-contractor liaison.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of Distribution Safety Rules (DSR’s).
2. Experience of project delivery with civils elements in public highway.
3. Previous experience of technical authoring of electricity industry standards, processes and procedures.
4. Able to competently administer basic Microsoft Office programs.
5. H&S Qualification: SMSTS, SSSTS, NEBOSH, IOISH
6. Demonstrable knowledge of electricity distribution and construction legislation e.g ESCQR,
Electricity Act, Electricity at Work Regulations, BS7671.

Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
