We're expanding our team in Chudleigh, Devon, and are looking for caring, resilient and committed Support Workers to support a young adult as they take the next steps towards greater independence and adult life.

The Working Pattern
We currently provide 15 hours of 1:1 support each day, alongside waking night support, creating a consistent and structured environment that promotes safety, wellbeing and independence.
We're recruiting for:
- Day Support Workers (full-time and part-time opportunities available)
- Waking Night Support Workers
- Flexible working patterns across a 7-day rota
Waking night staff play a vital role in providing reassurance, maintaining routines, monitoring wellbeing and ensuring a safe and settled environment throughout the night. This is an active support role where your presence and consistency can make a significant difference.
About the Person We Support
You will be supporting a young adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD who thrives with structure, routine and trusted relationships.
The individual can experience difficulties with communication, information processing and working memory and benefits from support that is clear, consistent and delivered at their own pace.
Successful Support Workers will understand the importance of:
- Breaking tasks and information into manageable steps
- Using repetition, prompting and reassurance where needed
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and regulation
- Introducing changes gradually and positively
- Building trusted, long-term relationships
You'll utilise social stories, visual supports and person-centred communication approaches to help reduce anxiety, increase understanding and support successful daily living.
What the Role Involves
Every day is different, but your role will focus on helping the individual build confidence, develop life skills and achieve greater independence.
You'll support with:
- Emotional wellbeing and emotional regulation
- Establishing and maintaining positive daily routines
- Personal care and wellbeing
- Meal planning, healthy eating and food preparation
- Household tasks including laundry, cleaning and organisation
- Accessing the local community and participating in meaningful activities
- Developing communication and social skills
- Building confidence, choice and decision-making skills
- Developing practical adult life skills
- Preparing for appointments, activities and changes in routine
- Working collaboratively with family members, professionals and colleagues
Essential Experience
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism and/or ADHD
- Experience using social stories, visual supports or structured communication approaches
- Understanding of how communication differences and working memory challenges can impact everyday life
- Knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries
