Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) – Full Time (39 Hours per Week)

About the Role
A Recreation Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring our customers have a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience. While lifeguarding is an important part of the role, you'll also be involved in every aspect of the day-to-day operation of the centre.

As a Recreation Assistant, your passion for customer service will shine through whether you're supervising the swimming pool, preparing activity spaces, supporting events or helping customers make the most of our fantastic facilities.
What you'll do
- Undertake regular pool supervision and lifeguard rotations.
- Ensure the safety of customers using the swimming pool.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the centre.
- Prepare and set up sports halls, studios, gyms and activity spaces for a wide variety of programmes.
- Deliver first class customer service and respond positively to customer enquiries.
- Support the day-to-day operation of one of the region's busiest leisure centres.
- Assist with the set up and operation of concerts, live entertainment, sporting events and community events at The Sands Centre, helping to create memorable experiences for thousands of visitors each year.
- Work closely with colleagues across leisure, events and customer service to ensure the smooth running of the centre.

What you need:

- Knowledge of health and safety
- Be a great team player
- Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up to date NPLQ training records and if not the NPLQ training can be provided subject to passing a swim test.

Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service, flexible working may be possible, working from home is not possible in this role.
