Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to residents during overnight hours. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of individuals in a care home or home care setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be attentive to residents' needs, and have the ability to work independently during night shifts. Previous experience in care environments is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or urgent needs of residents
- Document observations and any incidents accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
- Support residents with evening routines and prepare them for restful sleep
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the care setting
- Liaise with day staff regarding residents' overnight status and any relevant updates
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Driving licence is desirable for roles involving home care visits or transport arrangements
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care services is advantageous
- Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans effectively
- Good IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently during night shifts
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations professionally
Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
