Operations & Marketing Assistant (Hybrid)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, versatile, and customer-focused Operations & Marketing Assistant to join our growing team.
This dynamic role combines direct customer engagement with marketing, operational support, and customer care. You will play a pivotal role in promoting our holiday packages, connecting directly with our passengers, ensuring smooth booking processes, and serving as a key point of contact for operational support.
This role is offered on an initial 12-month fixed term, with scope to extend to full-time/permanent. The role will require working 3 days remotely at home/in the Newcastle area and 2 days in Darlington office.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend holiday departures and returns to greet passengers, ensure seamless boardings, and welcome travellers home
- Serve as a friendly, reassuring face for the brand at key customer touchpoints
- Support back-office preparation for each holiday and daytrip
- Handle incoming customer enquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits
- Process bookings, payments, and seat reservations efficiently using our reservation systems
- Participate in a rota-based out-of-hours coverage system to handle urgent operational enquiries, coach travel updates, or emergency passenger support outside standard office hours
- Write, create and schedule content across social media and email marketing
- Keep website listings, tour details, and pricing accurate and up to date
- Assist in the preparation, layout, and distribution of seasonal print marketing
- Represent Primrose Holidays at local showcases, trade events, and community exhibitions to drive brand awareness and generate prospective leads
Key Requirements
- Experience in travel & tourism preferred, but not essential
- Strong communication skills with a genuine customer-first attitude
- Experience with content management (CMS) and publishing/design tools
- Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Flexibility to work between 07:00 and 19:00, incl weekends and on out-of-hours rota
- Full driving licence and own car preferred, but not essential
Salary: £28,938.00 per annum
Location: Hybrid – 3 days remote/2 days in Darlington office
Working hours: 37.5 paid hours per week. Daily working hours typically fall within a 07:00 to 19:00 window to cover departures/arrivals. Working day capped at 7.5 paid hours. Shared rota system for handling out-of-hours emergency communications.
Holidays: 20 days annual leave + bank holidays, rising to 25 days at 2 years’ service, and up to 30 days annual leave + bank holidays with long-service
