Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and a passion for home decor. This role involves assisting and serving customers, replenishing stock, checking off deliveries, operating the till system, cashing up at the end of the day and general shop duties and house keeping. The successful applicant will play a vital part in creating a welcoming shopping environment and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
- Assist customers in selecting home decor products when needed
- Checking off deliverys against delivery notes
- Maintain organised product displays and ensure products are well-stocked and correctly priced
- Cashing up at the end of the day
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Answer customer enquiries both in person and via phone
- Keep the shop clean, tidy, and inviting at all times
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management as needed
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers
- Organised with excellent organisational skills to manage stock
- An interest in home decor is desirable
- Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Knowledge of cashing up is desirable
- Must be flexible with hours as additional will be available during school holidays, Christmas and occasional weekends
- Excellent time keeping is essential
