As a growing and fast-paced organization, Demo Co. is looking for a motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department. This newly created position will be an integral part of our company operations, managing the overall accounting function, and leading a team of professionals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; CPA or related certification is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including 3+ years of managerial experience
- Ability to comprehend and analyse financial statements
- Substantial experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with accounting software and MS Excel
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
