Domiciliary Care Manager
Light Health Care Ltd – Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: £33150–£39,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
Full-time or Part-time considered
Light Health Care Ltd is looking for an experienced, caring and confident Domiciliary Care Manager to join our management team in Barnsley.
We are an established domiciliary care provider with an upward growth plan, and as we strengthen our management structure, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to delivering safe, person-centred care while creating a positive and accountable working culture for our team.
The opportunity
You will work closely with our Directors, Care Coordinators, Field Supervisors and wider team to support the effective day-to-day management and quality of the service.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead and support an established domiciliary care team.
- Strengthen quality, compliance and operational systems.
- Support Care Coordinators and Field Supervisors to take ownership of their areas.
- Promote a positive, respectful and accountable team culture.
- Oversee safeguarding, complaints, incidents and quality concerns.
- Maintain high standards of care planning, risk management and record keeping.
- Support CQC compliance and continuous improvement.
- Build positive relationships with service users, families, commissioners and professionals.
- Help create a service where both the people receiving care and the people delivering it feel valued.
We are looking for a manager who does not simply wait for problems to arise, but who can identify priorities, take ownership, support others and ensure agreed actions are followed through.
About you
You will need:
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar management or senior leadership role within domiciliary/home care.
- Strong knowledge of domiciliary care operations and CQC requirements.
- Experience leading, supervising and developing care teams.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, risk assessment, medication and quality assurance.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The confidence to address poor practice while remaining fair, supportive and professional.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a management team.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential.
- The ability and willingness to travel across Barnsley and neighbouring locations as required for service-user visits, staff support, meetings and operational requirements.
- Flexibility to participate in the management on-call rota and provide appropriate management support outside normal office hours when required.
A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent, is desirable.
Previous or current CQC Registered Manager status would be a significant advantage, although this is not essential for the right candidate with strong domiciliary care management experience.
What we offer
- Competitive salary of £33,150–£39,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time or part-time working arrangements considered.
- Supportive senior leadership and established management team.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- £20 birthday gift.
- Access to a salary advance scheme.
- MOT contribution of up to £30.
- Pension Scheme
- Free Car Park
- Up to 28days paid Holiday
- Opportunities for funded professional development and qualifications
Working with us
This is a management role requiring a visible and flexible approach. The successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from our Barnsley base while travelling within Barnsley and neighbouring areas where required.
The postholder will also participate in the management on-call arrangements to ensure appropriate senior support is available when significant operational, safeguarding or service-continuity matters arise.
If you are an experienced domiciliary care professional who is passionate about quality, people and creating a positive culture, we would love to hear from you.
