Tyrrell Services Limited is looking for a Trainee Commercial Catering Engineer to join our growing engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is practical, technically minded and looking to build a long-term career within the commercial catering industry.
Previous commercial catering experience is not essential. We’re looking for the right person with the right attitude — someone who wants to learn, takes pride in their work and is prepared to develop their skills through a combination of hands-on experience, manufacturer training and support from our experienced engineers.
THE ROLE
As a Trainee Commercial Catering Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced members of our engineering team while developing the skills required to eventually work independently in the field.
Your initial training will focus primarily on: - Commercial warewashing equipment, including dishwashers and glasswashers - Commercial water boilers and hot-water equipment - Electrical commercial catering equipment - Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) - Basic electrical testing and fault finding - Diagnosing equipment faults - Replacing components and completing repairs - Equipment servicing and maintenance - Safe isolation and electrical safety - Understanding manufacturers' technical information and wiring diagrams - Completing service reports and job documentation - Communicating professionally with customers As your knowledge, confidence and qualifications develop, the range and complexity of equipment you work on will increase.
The aim is to develop you into a competent, independent Commercial Catering Engineer with the opportunity to continue progressing within Tyrrell Services.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Have a genuine interest in engineering, electrics or mechanical equipment
- Be practical and comfortable working with tools
- Be willing and enthusiastic about learning
