Role Overview
As an Afterschool Club Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, educational, and enjoyable sessions for primary-aged children. You will encourage participation, build confidence, and create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality afterschool club sessions.
- Create engaging activities suitable for primary-aged children.
- Promote participation, creativity, teamwork, and personal development.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, school staff, and colleagues.
- Complete any required session planning and administrative tasks.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children in a teaching, coaching, childcare, youth work, or activity leadership capacity.
- Knowledge, qualifications, or demonstrable experience in at least one of the specialist areas listed above.
- Ability to work independently and confidently lead sessions.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for inspiring and developing young people.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one before employment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching qualification or relevant subject qualification.
- Forest School qualification.
- Sports coaching qualification.
- Youth work qualification.
- Experience delivering extracurricular or enrichment activities.
- Paediatric First Aid certification.
