Yard Operative
Location: Crokers Park, Edgelands Cross, Totnes Road, Ipplepen, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 5UG
Salary: Competitive depending on experience
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7.30am–5pm, plus Saturdays 8am–12.30pm approximately once a month (rota basis)

The Role
As a Yard Operative, you'll play a key part in keeping our yard running smoothly — loading and unloading deliveries, moving stock, and helping customers get what they need, safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
- Operating a forklift to load, unload, and move timber and building materials
- Loading our own delivery lorries ready for despatch
- Picking and preparing orders for collection or delivery
- Keeping the yard organised, tidy, and safe
- Assisting customers and trade drivers with loading
- Carrying out routine checks on forklift equipment
- Supporting general yard duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous yard or warehouse experience preferred
- Good physical fitness — the role involves manual handling
- A strong focus on health and safety
- Reliable, punctual, and a good team player
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid, in-date forklift licence preferred — full training provided for the right candidate
