Salary: £33,827 - £36,853 per annum

The Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the College’s financial records fully and accurately reflect all financial activity, supporting robust decision-making and financial stability across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing

Ensuring accurate, timely financial records.
- Managing reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and Fixed assets.
- Supporting management accounts.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance.
- Handling payroll accounting and payment allocations.
- Maintaining and improving financial systems and controls.
- Supporting audits and key reporting.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines technical accounting expertise with a proactive, problem-solving mindset:
Essential:
-
AAT Level 3 (or above) or equivalent accountancy qualification.
- Strong Excel skills (including Pivot Tables and large data handling).
- Experience in a busy finance environment with high attention to detail.
- Confident using accounting systems and interpreting financial data.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
Desirable:
-
Experience with SAGE 200 (or similar).
- Background in education or a similar sector.
- Experience supporting or training non-finance colleagues.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
