About the Role
Dental Studio Cheltenham is looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Dental Nurse to join our team.
The position is initially for Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the opportunity for full-time hours from October 2026 if required.
We would ideally like to recruit a qualified and GDC-registered Dental Nurse, however, we are also happy to consider a Trainee Dental Nurse who is already enrolled on a recognised dental nursing course and is keen to progress their career within a private practice.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing chairside assistance to dentists during a range of private dental treatments
- Preparing the surgery before each clinical session
- Ensuring surgeries are clean, organised, fully stocked and ready for patients
- Following infection prevention and decontamination procedures
- Cleaning, sterilising and correctly storing instruments
- Maintaining accurate clinical and decontamination records
- Supporting clinicians with radiographs and other procedures within your training and scope of practice
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels and reporting when supplies need ordering
- Ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Providing a friendly, professional and reassuring experience for patients
- Supporting reception and general practice duties when required
- Working closely with the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the practice
- Following all practice policies, procedures and health & safety requirements
Qualified Dental Nurse
Ideally, applicants will:
- Be qualified and registered with the General Dental Council (GDC)
- Have good knowledge of infection control and decontamination procedures
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be confident, professional and patient-focused
- Work well as part of a team
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be comfortable working within a busy private dental environment
Trainee Dental Nurse
We are happy to consider a trainee who:
- Is already enrolled on a recognised Dental Nursing qualification
- Is committed to completing their coursework and practical requirements
- Is enthusiastic about developing their clinical skills
- Is reliable, organised and willing to learn
- Has a professional and caring approach towards patients
- Is able to work Tuesdays and Thursdays
Previous dental experience would be beneficial but is not essential for the right trainee.
Hours
The role is initially:
Tuesday & Thursday 8.45-5.15pm
There will be the opportunity to increase to full-time hours from October 2026, making this suitable for someone who would like to start part-time and potentially progress into a larger role within the practice.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
