Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Credit Controller to join our finance team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong client relationships. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a dynamic organisation, utilising various accounting software tools. The role is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of credit control processes.
Duties
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices
- Contact customers via phone, email, or letter to follow up on overdue payments
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently and professionally
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions within the accounting system
- Assist in preparing reports on debt collection activities and outstanding balances
- Utilise accounting software Navision
- Approving payment plans in line with company policy. Ensuring customer adhere to the plan.
- Completing trade references for customers.
- Identify, maintain and amend customers who should be on the no letter list.
- Monitor and maintain credit limits ensuring that they are in line with company policy.
- Cover the AR admin role when required.
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks related to credit control as required
Skills
- Proven experience with accounting software desirable
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to client interactions
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in using various accounting tools and software for data entry and reporting
- Previous experience in credit control or a similar finance role is desirable but not essential

Pay: £24,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
