Overview
National Power Flush is expanding its Approved Contractor network and is looking for an experienced Self-Employed Power Flushing Contractor to undertake additional work across Manchester, Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an established self-employed heating engineer or independent heating business with genuine practical power flushing experience who would like to supplement their existing workload with additional specialist power flushing jobs.
You will remain fully independent and continue to operate your own business. National Power Flush generates customer enquiries, gathers initial system information, prepares quotations and coordinates bookings, allowing our Approved Contractors to focus on delivering professional power flushing services.
Work is offered according to customer demand, geographical coverage and contractor availability. There is no obligation to accept every job offered and no guaranteed minimum volume or frequency of work.
The Role
As a National Power Flush Approved Contractor, you will:
- Carry out professional power flushing of domestic wet central heating systems.
- Work in accordance with National Power Flush operational procedures, Code of Practice and Approved Contractor standards.
- Attend customer properties within your agreed geographical coverage area.
- Use your own professional power flushing equipment, vehicle, tools and PPE.
- Carry out appropriate system checks before commencing work.
- Communicate professionally with customers and manage expectations regarding the scope and limitations of power flushing.
- Collect and submit required job evidence, including photographs, thermal images, water samples and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain your own equipment and appropriate business insurance.
- Leave systems appropriately protected following completion of the power flush.
- Provide a professional standard of workmanship and customer service while representing the National Power Flush Approved Contractor Scheme.
What We Are Looking For
Applicants should:
- Be self-employed or operate their own independent heating/plumbing business.
- Have genuine practical experience carrying out domestic power flushing.
- Own or have reliable access to suitable professional power flushing equipment.
- Have suitable transport, tools, testing equipment and PPE.
- Hold appropriate business insurance covering the work undertaken.
- Have a full driving licence and be able to travel throughout the agreed coverage area.
- Be confident working independently in customers' homes.
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Be reliable, professional and committed to high standards of workmanship.
- Be willing to follow National Power Flush procedures and evidence requirements.
The Approved Contractor Scheme is intended for experienced contractors and is not an entry-level power flushing training programme.
Earnings & Work Allocation
Typical standard one-day power flush allocations currently provide contractor earnings from approximately £300 per day, with earnings varying according to the size, complexity and agreed value of individual jobs.
This is a self-employed contractor opportunity rather than an employed day-rate position. Work is offered subject to customer demand, location and contractor availability, and no minimum level of work or income is guaranteed.
Approved Contractors invoice customers directly in accordance with the agreed commercial arrangements.
What National Power Flush Provides
- Additional specialist work alongside your existing business.
- National marketing and customer enquiry generation.
- Customer quotation and booking administration.
- Work allocations within your agreed geographical coverage.
- Professional operational documentation and procedures.

- The opportunity to become part of a growing nationwide network of specialist Approved Contractors.
Application Process
Suitable applicants will be invited to complete the National Power Flush Approved Contractor application and assessment process.
Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of relevant experience, equipment and appropriate insurance before Approved Contractor status is confirmed.
If you are an experienced self-employed heating professional based in Manchester or the surrounding area and would like to add further power flushing work to your existing business, we would be pleased to hear from you.
