Play a key role in supporting IT business systems for the Social Care and Education Division.
We provide crucial IT business systems support to staff across multiple sites throughout Leicester City area as well as home-based workers too. We support front line workers with system support, guidance, including creation and maintenance of appropriate support documentation. With significant projects in the pipeline making this a very exciting time and opportunity to join the service.
We have both full time and part time positions on a permanent and fixed term basis’. The core working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm and 8.30am-4.30pm on a Friday.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be dedicated to support frontline Social Care & Education (SCE) department staff and so will need to resolve queries for many SCE systems, especially Liquidlogic, ContrOCC and other associated systems. You will support the delivery of digital transformation projects and identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll maintain projects and system documentation and materials which will be used by the business, partners, suppliers, and other IT teams. In addition, you’ll support the management and maintenance of the Council’s varied ICT systems, test enhancements and new functionalities for those systems.
Working within a small, dedicated team, you’ll work with other support services for SCE as well as internal and external IT teams to resolve a variety of issues in a timely and accurate manner.
You’ll be expected to work in an agile manner and may be required to travel across the city to attend meetings with external partners, and colleagues from various services and departments. Your base will generally be at a centrally located council building in the city centre, with limited flexibility to work from home.
What you’ll need
With experience of working in a systems administration role supporting complex systems in a large organisation, you'll have a proven track record of supporting IT business systems, including but not limited to:
- End User administration.
- Client applications and solution implementation and support.
- Device and solution configuration, testing deployment, upgrades, patches and installation.
- Maintaining system security, integrity and the quality of data which may be highly confidential.
- Logical approach to problem/fault resolution.
- Liaison with technical support teams and suppliers.
A logical thinker you’ll be able to problem solve in a creative and proactive manner. You’ll have a positive attitude to flexible working and show resilience when working in a fast-changing operational support environment. Using excellent customer service skills will allow you to easily converse with all areas of the business and business support teams and translate their requirements into the technical solutions.
In addition, you’ll have a good understanding of GDPR and sound appreciation of the need for effective information and systems security and can demonstrate excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
