The Role
Are you passionate about shaping and inspiring the workforce of tomorrow? We are looking for a creative, dedicated and enthusiastic Multi-Skills Vocational Trainer to join a vibrant team in Dunstable. This role is suitable for someone with a multi-trade background in plastering, joinery and/or bricklaying, or a general all-rounder with previous experience teaching a multi-skills course. You will deliver engaging, practical training and assessment to learners on a Level 1 multi-skills course, helping them develop their skills, confidence and progression towards their long-term aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, practical multi-skills construction sessions to small groups of learners.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to meet individual needs and learning objectives.
- Create and manage tailored learning plans that support learners' progression and long-term aspirations.
- Provide pastoral support, advice and guidance to learners throughout their programme.
- Use a variety of teaching and training methods to engage individuals with different learning styles.
- Ensure all learning delivery meets quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and record learner progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding and equality standards.
- Achieve quality targets, including those related to learner achievement, inclusion, progression and destination.
- Conduct risk assessments of all activities, always prioritising your own, learners' and others' safety.
Skills and Experience
Industry-recognised qualification in Construction / Multi-Skills.
- Post-16 teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve this within an agreed timeframe.
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above, or willingness to gain them.
- Proven professional or vocational expertise in the Construction sector.
- Experience in FE teaching and training is desirable.
- A multi-trade background in plastering, joinery and/or bricklaying, or broad all-round construction skills.
- Experience teaching or delivering a multi-skills course would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Ability to engage and support a diverse range of learners and inspire them to achieve their full potential.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Pay: £26,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
