Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and ensuring the smooth operation of our café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, good organisational skills, and a positive attitude. Duties
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders and processing payments accurately
- Prepare a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, and snacks
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of food preparation and service
- Keep the café clean and organised, including clearing tables and sanitising work surfaces
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the café
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently using effective time management skills
- Handle cash register operations with basic maths skills for accurate transactions
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or background in serving food and beverages is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Reliable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Social media skills are preferred to promote the business
- Basic cooking ability preferred
