Experienced Exterior Painter / Decorator – Cedar Cladding

We are looking for an experienced exterior painter/decorator to undertake the external redecoration of a large cedar-clad residential property in South Oxfordshire.
The work involves preparing and refinishing existing cedar weatherboarding, changing the current stained timber finish to a dark Ebony/black opaque finish. The window and door surrounds will be finished in contrasting white.
The property is due to featured in a famous TV programme, so we are looking for someone capable of producing a particularly high standard of finish.
The work will include:
- Cleaning and preparation of existing cedar cladding
- Removal of loose or failing previous coatings
- Sanding and feathering previously coated areas where required
- Preparation of both bare and previously stained cedar
- Application of the specified exterior timber coating system
- Careful cutting-in around windows, doors and architectural details
- Painting window and door surrounds in white
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working area
About you
You should be an experienced painter/decorator with good knowledge of exterior timber preparation and coatings. Previous experience with cedar cladding, timber-framed properties or high-quality residential exterior work would be particularly useful.
You will need to be able to work independently, take pride in your preparation and finishing, and be comfortable working at height where necessary.
