Mid Devon District Council is seeking a proactive, people‑focused Technical Support Team Leader to lead our Technical Support & Repairs team at Mid Devon Housing. As the Technical Support Team Leader, you will lead a team that sits at the heart of Mid Devon Housing's customer services. Alongside coordinating responsive repairs and providing technical support, the team plays a vital role in supporting tenants, managing housing administration processes and helping customers access the services they need. Working across a wide range of housing functions and as one of the first points of contact for many tenants, your team will help people access services, resolve problems and get the support they need.

What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
Lead and supervise the Technical Support & Repairs team, ensuring high‑quality customer service and consistent decision‑making
- Oversee the repairs booking function, making sure repair requests are logged accurately and allocated quickly
- Support colleagues to resolve a broad range of tenant enquiries and service requests
- Monitor the performance of staff and contractors, ensuring repairs are completed to the right standard and timescale
- Work collaboratively with tenancy and property teams to deliver excellent outcomes for tenants
- Work closely with the Repairs & Disrepair Manager to deliver the responsive repairs programme
- Ensure all data is recorded and managed accurately across our systems
- Champion service improvements and contribute to best practice.

About you:
We are looking for someone who can combine leadership skills with a strong commitment to customer service. You’ll bring:
- Experience supervising or leading staff in a customer‑focused environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing demands
- Confidence in making decisions, motivating a team and driving performance
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, solutions‑focused approach
- A commitment to equality, customer service and continuous improvement
- Confidence using IT systems and managing performance information.
Experience of housing repairs, maintenance or social housing would be advantageous, but we are equally interested in people with transferable leadership skills and a desire to learn.
