Oakie Doke’s Playhouse is a children's Soft Play Centre and Cafe in Sevenoaks. We are inviting applicants to join our Soft Play and Cafe at Oakie Doke’s Playhouse in Sevenoaks as a Softplay Assistant and Barista. We are looking for hard working, enthusiastic individuals who want to make their mark and grow with the business.
The successful applicant will be a key member in assisting with the day-to-day delivery of our Soft Play sessions. This will include greeting customers, working in the cafe and ensuring a safe and friendly experience for all.
Key tasks will include but are not limited to the below:
● Greeting Soft Play customers
● Provide customers with an enjoyable, exciting and safe experience
● Working in the cafe to prepare and serve our small menu of quality food and drinks
● Having responsibility for opening and closing the premises, when required
● Taking payments
● Ensuring a clean and tidy environment at all times (cleaning the relevant areas before and after each play session and whenever else required)
● Answering customer queries
● Daily checks of the soft play equipment, cafe and other facilities
● Hosting birthday parties
● Assist with maintaining cafe stock and taking deliveries
● Assist with keeping records up to date
● Ensure awareness of health and safety, fire drill, first aid and the safeguarding/whistleblowing process with the ability to follow these
Skills & Requirements
● Experience working with children (desirable)

● Experience with food handling and hygiene (desirable)

We are recruiting for two roles:
- one, fixed-term, part-time position, to cover one weekend shift per week until Spring 2027.
- Plus a casual, ad-hoc role with no guarantee of hours, for which shifts will be offered according to the needs of the business, which may include mid-week, weekend and bank holidays
Parking available on site
Training will be required (e.g. food hygiene, first aid and fire safety)
