This is a great time to join UKSBS. As our organisation continues to evolve and strengthen its assurance capability, we are looking for a Senior Information & Records Management Assurance Officer to join our Information Management Assurance team.
UKSBS is a public sector shared service centre providing high quality HR, Payroll, Finance, Procurement and IT services and expertise to our partners. We are proud of the part we play in enabling our partners to achieve the best outcomes for the British people and the UK economy.
This is a key role for an experienced information management professional who is passionate about good information governance and confident providing advice, assurance and guidance across data protection, freedom of information and records management. You will work closely with the Information Manager and Data Protection Officer and act as a trusted adviser to colleagues across the business.
The duties for this role include but are not limited to the following:
To do this role well, you would need to demonstrate the following:
- Significant experience in information management, data protection, freedom of information or records management
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act
- Experience using Microsoft 365 tools to support effective information and records management
- Experience developing, implementing or supporting information management policies, guidance and procedures
- Experience managing file plans, metadata, permissions and retention within an electronic records management system
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business needs and apply practical information management solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex subject matter clearly to a range of audiences
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Professional qualifications in data protection, records management or information governance
- Experience designing or delivering training or awareness activity
- Experience working in a public sector or regulated environment
Awareness of information security standards such as ISO 27001
