An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join Maple Suite Palliative care unit, based on the Liverpool Hospital site.
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated nurse to join our dedicated Inpatient Unit team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Nurses to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient centred care.
Applicants should have experience in palliative care or demonstrate a strong interest in developing their skills in this specialist area.
You must be able to work effectively within a busy, fast paced environment, providing excellent standards of care while upholding the values and high expectations of Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Perform comprehensive assessment of patients nursing needs.
Plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health needs and varying levels of complexity for patients requiring specialist palliative care.
Collect, collate, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records.
Involve patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patients needs are met, especially in relation to discharge planning.
Safely administer medicines, infusions and blood transfusions as prescribed.
Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers/relatives including sharing sensitive news.
Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
Act as a link nurse and resource for other nursing staff for a specific area of patient care.
