Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Low Loader Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting specialised low loader vehicles and access equipment across various locations. This role requires a high level of driving expertise, adherence to safety regulations, and excellent organisational skills. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 low loader lorries with precision and care, ensuring safe transportation of heavy machinery and specialised equipment.
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle and trailer, including brakes, lights, tyres, and securing mechanisms.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate lifting and securing techniques, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules whilst adhering to legal driving hours and restrictions.
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with company policies.
- Comply with all road safety laws, tachograph regulations, and company procedures during all driving activities.
- Assist with the securement of loads to prevent movement during transit, ensuring cargo safety throughout the journey.
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for immediate action.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of safe load securing practices and relevant health & safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as required by operational demands.
