Tamar Trading Co Ltd is a well-established, independent builders’ merchant with five depots across Devon and Cornwall.

We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Internal Sales professional to join our friendly team at our Bodmin branch.
About the role:
Working as part of our sales team, you’ll be dealing with local builders, contractors and tradespeople, helping them find the right products and providing a service they can rely on.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with customer enquiries by phone, email and face-to-face.
- Selling and promoting our range of general building & plumbing materials.
- Preparing quotations and processing sales orders.
- Checking product availability and liaising with suppliers where required.
- Looking after existing customer accounts and identifying opportunities to increase sales.
- Developing new customer relationships and winning new business.
- Working closely with colleagues across the branch to ensure customers receive an efficient service.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in internal sales, trade counter sales or a similar role within the building/construction industry.
- Good knowledge of building and plumbing materials, with a sound understanding of the building trade.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A confident, professional approach to selling and dealing with customers.
- The ability to develop strong customer relationships and identify sales opportunities.
- A positive, enthusiastic and conscientious attitude.
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a friendly, supportive team.
- A genuine interest in developing your career with the business.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who knows the trade, enjoys dealing with customers and takes pride in providing a great service.
Hours & Salary:
This is a full-time position.
Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
Every other Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
There is a 1-hour unpaid break Monday to Friday.
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
