Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver & Packing Operative to join our team. This role involves delivering goods to clients efficiently while assisting with packing and duties. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, excellent communication skills, and the physical capability for heavy lifting. This position offers an engaging environment where organisational skills and a professional attitude are highly valued. There may be overtime hours required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, to deliver products to various locations.
- Ensure timely collection and delivery of goods, maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Packing orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse workspace.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Follow all health and safety protocols during driving and warehouse activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of the fleet.
- Labouring at any time all above responsibilities have been completed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within the bespoke furniture industry .
- Valid UK driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in packing operations or similar roles is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as alone.
- Excellent time management is essential.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and team members effectively.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting is desirable but not essential. This role requires a dedicated individual capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while prioritising safety and customer satisfaction.
Pay: From £14.70 per hour
