If you get real satisfaction from a clean reconciliation, cannot help but spot where a process could work better, and are the person colleagues trust when they hit a wall, this role was built for you. As Senior Accounts Assistant in our Finance Operations team, you will own a broad range of transactional accounting responsibilities, lead the billing process end to end, and be the first point of escalation for the AR/AP team. - Own transactional accounting duties including AP, AR, reconciliations and journal postings, maintaining accuracy and consistency across everything you touch
- Take the lead on billing, ensuring invoices are raised correctly, on time and fully reconciled to reported income
- Carry out thorough reconciliations across bank accounts, supplier statements and intercompany balances, investigating discrepancies and seeing them through to resolution
- Be the first point of escalation for AR/AP queries, providing clear guidance and practical training to team members
- Identify process improvements and actively contribute to the Finance team's continuous improvement agenda
- Build deep expertise in Sage Intacct and use AI tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy across the function
You are precise and methodical by nature, but you do not just keep your head down. You take ownership of your responsibilities, communicate financial information clearly to people at every level, and you are genuinely curious about how things could work better. You are calm and reliable in a team that depends on accuracy every single day.
Essential

- Strong reconciliation skills across multiple datasets, with the confidence to investigate discrepancies and resolve them without being prompted
- Good understanding of accounting principles and statutory requirements
- Intermediate Excel skills including formulas, lookups and data manipulation
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues in plain terms
- A genuine appetite for using AI and emerging tools to work more accurately and efficiently
- Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, with a mindset for continuous improvement
Desirable
- Experience with Sage Intacct or a comparable cloud-based accounting system
- Experience guiding or mentoring colleagues in a transactional finance team
- Exposure to external audit processes
