Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and protection of various interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with precision and attention to detail.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to execute painting projects accurately.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment safely and efficiently, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
- Assist in colour matching and selecting appropriate materials for each project when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating roles.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and work from sketches or plans accurately.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and working at heights.
- A proactive attitude with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship.
- CSCS card required
