Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Deputy Manager for our nursery to support the overall management and daily operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, ensure high standards of care, and create a safe, engaging space where children can thrive. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to uphold our commitment to excellence in early childhood education. This is a temporary position to cover may leave for a period of 12-18 months .
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily nursery operations and staff management
- Support the implementation of educational programs that promote early childhood development
- Lead and motivate nursery staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on teamwork and professional growth
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and childcare regulations at all times
- Maintain open communication with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support children's needs
- Organize activities that stimulate learning, creativity, and social skills among children
- Support recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of nursery staff
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive experience working with children and understanding of early childhood education principles
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, parents, and children
- Knowledge of childcare regulations and health & safety standards applicable to nurseries
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Valid driving license is advantageous for transportation needs or off-site activities
- Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach
