Join Police Digital Service as Senior Performance + BI Manager
Starting at £75,000 per annum.
The role is responsible for applying performance frameworks across services, producing high-quality performance insight, and supporting teams to understand and improve delivery against strategic and business plan priorities.
The role focuses on how performance is measured, understood and acted upon, rather than the technical design of analytics solutions.

What you need to succeed in the role
Performance Framework Delivery

Performance Monitoring and Reporting
-
Produce regular, high quality performance reports and dashboards that provide clear, timely insight into service performance.

Monitor performance against agreed KPIs, identifying trends, risks and early indicators of underperformance.

Support the preparation of performance updates, briefings and packs for governance forums and senior stakeholders.

Ensure consistency, accuracy and quality across performance reporting outputs.
Data analytics and insight

Analyse and interpret performance data and business intelligence outputs to generate actionable insight that supports service

improvement and effective decision making.

Work with the Data and Analytics Business Intelligence Manager to define analytical requirements and ensure performance insights are robust, relevant and aligned to agreed performance frameworks.

Apply contextual understanding of services, delivery environments and organisational priorities to performance insight, supporting evidence based challenge and improvement discussions.
Tools, Data and Dashboards

Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting products using tools such as Power BI, SQL or equivalent platforms.

Ensure performance data is accurate, reliable and accessible to stakeholders.

Support improvements in data quality, data management and performance reporting processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with service owners, delivery teams and analysts to define and refine meaningful performance measures.

Support effective performance discussions by providing clear, timely and relevant insight.

Build strong working relationships across services to promote a consistent and collaborative approach to performance.
Continuous Improvement

Support the ongoing refinement of performance frameworks, metrics and reporting approaches.

Identify opportunities to improve how performance data and insight are produced and used across PDS.

Contribute to building organisational capability in performance management and business intelligence.
What you need to succeed in the role
Essential
-
Experience working in a performance, analytics, business intelligence or closely related role.

Practical experience developing and maintaining dashboards, reports and performance metrics.
-
Lead the effective use and development of analytics and business intelligence tools, including Power BI, SQL and related platforms.

Experience working in agile, iterative or change driven delivery environments.

Confidence working with large or complex datasets and multiple data sources.
Desirable
-
Experience within policing, law enforcement or the wider public sector.

Understanding of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and the digital service delivery lifecycle.

Awareness of benefits realisation, outcomes measurement or value based performance approaches.

Working Arrangements
This is a remote role with some national travel required to attend meetings.
All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
