Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swimming Teacher to deliver engaging swimming lessons during the Autumn Term. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing learners of various ages and abilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment that promotes water confidence and skill development. Duties
- Plan and deliver swimming lessons tailored to the needs of individual learners, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and water safety skills
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Ensure all lessons are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment at all times
- Organise lesson schedules and communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding learner progress
- Assist in setting up equipment and maintaining the cleanliness of the swimming pool area
- Promote water safety awareness and encourage positive behaviour among learners
Skills
- Previous sports coaching experience, preferably in swimming or water-based activities
- Proven ability to teach effectively across different age groups and skill levels
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners
- Organised with excellent planning skills to deliver structured lessons
- Ability to work flexibly during the Autumn Term schedule, demonstrating reliability and professionalism
- A recognised swimming qualification or relevant coaching certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Desirable
- 2+ Years Teaching Experience
- SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming or STA Level 2 Teaching Swimming
- NRASTAC or NPLQ or STA Safety Award
Essential (Required)
- 14+
- Able to obtain a self funded DBS
Pay: £16.50-£28.00 per hour
