Job Purpose:
Lead and support the nursing and care team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care, reporting to Clinical lead and Home manager
Main Accountabilities:
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our nursing home team. You will play a key role in leading and supporting the nursing team to provide high-quality, person-centred andholistic care to our residents.
The role includes providing care and support to residents with a range of complex needs, including palliative and end-of-life care, while ensuring their dignity, comfort and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the nursing and care team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.
- Provide holistic care that promotes residents' health, dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.
- Deliver compassionate palliative and end-of-life care, supporting residents and their families with sensitivity and respect.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail when assessing, monitoring and responding to residents' changing needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including GPs, community professionals, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers.
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation and care records.
- Administer medication safely and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Identify and escalate changes in residents' health and wellbeing appropriately.
- Promote a positive, respectful and supportive working environment within the team.
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and all relevant professional, regulatory and organisational standards.
- Contribute to quality improvement, safeguarding and infection prevention and control.
- Work flexibly across day and night shifts according to the needs of the home.
- Report to and work closely with the Home Manager and Clinical Lead to maintain high standards of clinical care.
About You
You will be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration who is passionate about delivering outstanding care. You will be a confident team leader with a warm and compassionate approach, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life.
