Assistant Store Manager – Winchester

We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our team at our Winchester. It’s a small, friendly store with a fantastic team and lots of loyal regular customers.
Working alongside the Store Manager, you’ll help lead the team, create a positive working environment and oversee the day-to-day running of the store. No two days are the same at Hoxton, so problem-solving, accountability and new challenges will be part of your everyday role.
A bit about you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Enjoys working as part of a small team while connecting with the wider Hoxton team
- Is passionate about providing outstanding customer service
- Is motivated to learn about our products and the business, and use that knowledge to drive operational excellence
- Is reliable and flexible, with the ability to work weekdays and weekends
- Is barista trained or has previous barista experience
- Has knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety within a retail environment – an advantage
- Is able to travel to support other stores when required – an advantage
A bit about the role
As Assistant Store Manager, you will:
- Work alongside the Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store
- Help create a positive team environment and deliver exceptional customer service
- Prepare drinks and sandwiches, and sell our freshly made bread, buns and pastries
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and positively
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times
- Provide cover for the Store Manager when required
- Work with the Store Manager to build team morale and create a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and supported

Hoxton Bakehouse is an artisan bakery specialising in handmade sourdough bread, cookies, cinnamon buns and Viennoiserie pastries.
We bake more than 1 million loaves and pastries every year, with a mission to bring better bread to more people. Alongside our growing wholesale business, we have six retail stores offering our freshly baked bread and pastries, as well as our own freshly roasted Seadog coffee.
