Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Tyre Fitter/Workshop Assistant to join our busy automotive workshop. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in automotive maintenance and customer service, providing hands-on experience in tyre fitting, basic vehicle repairs, and workshop support. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop, assisting with tyre replacements, vehicle maintenance, and customer interactions. Prior experience is not essential, as training will be provided, but a keen interest in mechanical work and a proactive attitude are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tyre fitting and removal using hand tools and power tools, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Support the workshop team with routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, and basic repairs.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out maintenance work on vehicles.
- Assist customers with enquiries and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
- Perform heavy lifting of tyres and vehicle parts safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety standards are met.
- Support the team in stock management, including ordering and organising parts and tools.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge or an interest in automotive repair is desirable but not essential.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 25kg).
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanour.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training as required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of workshop safety procedures.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
