Reports to: Business Development Manager

Summary of Position:
Work under the supervision of a Business Development Manager to acquire and manage relationships with referrers to build the quantity of referrals and convert them to instructions to support the Conveyancing Department. Proactively communicate and engage with the referrers and preserve the accounts with them. This will run separately to the management of the relationship with the clients, although the referrers will expect some matter-specific updates from you.
The ideal candidate will follow the direction of the Business Development Manager and collate statistics on their outreach and success and successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Business Development Manager in respect of:
- Converting leads: Nurturing prospective clients and converting leads into business for the residential conveyancing team.
- Lead Generation & Referrer Outreach: Identify and research potential clients, create targeted outreach campaigns, and establish initial contact with business who have access to those clients to develop relationships.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, client needs, and potential areas for business expansion within the legal sector.
- Proposal Development: Assist in the preparation of tailored pitches, proposals, and presentations for prospective clients and third parties.
- Networking & Relationship Management: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the firm’s services and expand its network.
- Marketing Support: Assist in the creation of marketing materials, manage online content, and support digital marketing initiatives to enhance the firm’s visibility.
- Reporting & Analysis: collect statistics on your business development activities and report on KPIs, suggesting improvements where necessary.
- Identifying any potential client and/ or referrer dissatisfaction.
- Attend local events, shows and conferences to network and promote the business. As a result of this, travel, as well as evening and weekend work, will sometimes be necessary.
- Updating Case Management System and referrer and, where necessary, client records.
- Liaising with the Compliance Team and Support Staff Team
- Adhering to all Policies and Procedures of the Company

Qualifications & Training (Desirable):
Experience (Essential):
- Working with customers/ clients and delivering communication to a high standard.
Experience (Desirable):
- Previous experience in a fast-paced office environment.
- Experience working with clients.
- Experience in a sales role.
Qualities & Attitudes (Essential):
- Communication skills: You will be working with a wide range of people, from our clients to other solicitors and Agents, so the ability to communicate well and in a professional manner is essential.
- Written communication skills: spelling and grammar.
- Attention to detail: high level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing legal documents or filling out forms and statements.
- Teamwork: able to work with clients, lawyers, and legal secretaries.
- Strong sense of discretion.
- Courteous and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrate that you can cope well under pressure.
- IT skills: Most work is be carried out electronically.
Knowledge (Essential):
- Understanding on how to use MS Office.
Knowledge (Desirable):
- Legal terminology, regulations and HM Land Registry system, although full training will be given.
- Ability to work with legal technology (HM Land Registry filing, computer systems, transcription software, Dictaphone etc)
- Understanding of the conveyancing process.
