Credit Controller
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outstanding customer debt, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and maintaining an accurate sales ledger through cash allocation, invoicing, and credit note processing. The role will also support the Accounts Senior with a variety of finance tasks, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Carry out credit control through phone calls and email, proactively chasing overdue invoices, resolving debit note queries ensuring timely collection of debts to help the team achieve KPI targets.
- Undertake all necessary sales ledger functions including raising invoices, handling customer account queries, allocation of customer payments, reconciling and reporting of sales ledger movements.
- Filing of delivery notes and related paperwork.
- Supporting the accounts senior with day to day tasks.
- Assisting with adhoc tasks within the finance team.
The successful candidate will:
- Timely processing of invoices and credit notes, while ensuring all sales are invoiced accurately and without delay.
- Ensuring overdue invoices and debit notes are collected within targets.
- Ownership of tasks and ability to work with others.
- Previous Credit Control experience is preferred, the successful candidate must have prior accounts experience.
- AAT qualification desirable, but not essential.
