Shift Electrical Engineer
We’re looking for an experienced Shift Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team at a large manufacturing facility in Ellesmere Port.
This is a permanent position carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a fast-paced industrial environment, working on equipment including power supplies, lighting, meters, circuit boards, pumps and associated electrical plant.
High Voltage switching experience would be highly beneficial but isn't essential, making this a good opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to develop their skills further.
The role operates on a structured 4-week shift rotation, including a 7-day break every four weeks:
- Week 1: 4 nights, 3 days off
- Week 2: 3 days, 1 day off, 3 nights
- Week 3: 3 days off, 4 days
- Week 4: 7 days off
- Day Shift: 06:00 – 18:00
- Night Shift: 18:00 – 06:00
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out planned preventative electrical maintenance.
- Respond to reactive maintenance and electrical breakdowns.
- Fault find, diagnose and repair electrical plant and equipment.
- Maintain power supplies, lighting, meters, circuit boards, pumps and associated systems.
- Complete electrical installations and system upgrades across the site.
- Ensure maintenance tasks are completed within contractual timescales.
- Complete all electrical maintenance reports and documentation accurately.
- Supervise visiting subcontractors and ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
- Support other engineers and members of the maintenance team when required.
- Undertake training in mechanical maintenance and support the mechanical team where required.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Recognised electrical qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be highly advantageous but isn't essential.
- High Voltage switching experience would be highly advantageous but isn't essential.
- Previous electrical maintenance experience within a commercial, manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience working with power supplies, lighting, meters, circuit boards and pumps.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to carry out electrical installations and system upgrades.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Ability to complete maintenance and compliance documentation accurately.
- Flexible approach and willingness to develop mechanical maintenance skills.
- Ability to obtain the required local security clearance.
